Events

We ran a variety of events for adults, children and families, including workshops, co-design activities, talks and panel discussions.

These accompanied the Can Robots Care? exhibition and Leeds International Film Festival screenings.

We also ran academic activities, including a symposium in April 2022.

Half-term Robot Fun

This February the Thackray Museum of Medicine launched week of Robot activities over half-term. From 19-27 February, their Bot Bonanza, included:

  • Robot Crafts
  • VR Robot experience

The launch welcomed guests to the opening of the ‘Can Robots Care?’ exhibition, with opening remarks by the Posthuman Care project PI Dr Amelia DeFalco and the CEO of the Thackray Museum of Medicine Nate Edwards. Guests were able to meet and interact with the care robots MiRO, Nao, Paro and Pepper, and listen to a special talk by Dr Tony Prescott, Director of Sheffield Robotics. Exhibition launch: Can Robots Care?

Visitors joined us to celebrate the launch of our exhibition, Can Robots Care? at the Thackray Museum of Medicine in Leeds. The launch included a special talk and robot demonstration from Tony Prescott, Professor of Cognitive Robotics and Director of the Sheffield Robotics lab at the University of Sheffield.
